Mind Missions Digital – Oregon 3rd Grade

Mind Missions Learning was created to prepare students for College, Career, and Civic life using inquiry-based, creative problem-solving lessons. Every Mind Mission lesson provides a compelling Social Studies question known as the Mission. Students learn the context of the question by reading The Story. Next, students Team Up to develop supporting questions and gather evidence to address the Mission solution. They collaboratively create a unique solution for the compelling question. Each team presents their solution to the class. Finally, they evaluate the effectiveness and the variety of solutions using Reflection prompts.

The Mind Missions Digital System includes introductory lessons for student success and twenty integrated lessons for learning Social Studies, Language Arts, and 21st century skills.

What lessons are in this Mind Missions Digital Learning System?

Basic Government:
Students develop a deep understanding of the basics of government as they write a rights rap, learn how laws are made, explore the levels of government, build for three branches, and secure the secret selection process.

U.S. Civic Leaders:
Investigate the inspirational stories of Jackie Robinson, Sojourner Truth, Frederick Douglass, Booker T. Washington, and Thurgood Marshall as teams construct solutions for civic leaders.

American Inventors:
Innovate like Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, Robert Fulton, and Cyrus McCormick! Student teams explore the purpose and impact of great inventions as they devise their solutions.

Citizens of Character:
Create solutions to aid the work of good citizens as they fight great challenges. Team up and innovate for Ruby Bridges, Clara Barton, Helen Keller, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Theodore Roosevelt.
