What are Mind Missions?

Thinking about creativity

Mind Missions are problem-based challenges that encourage student creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. First, students learn essential knowledge about civics, geography, economics, and history through leveled social studies stories. Next, student teams engage in related problem-solving challenges. Finally, they reflect on their learning using writing prompts. In the process, students engage in deep social studies learning and develop critical skills for the 21st century. Each teacher-friendly lesson follows the same 7-Step Format.

How do they work?

The Mind Missions framework encourages students to discover social studies through stories, experience history using creative problem-solving team challenges, and grow as they reflect on their learning. See a sample lesson
